  1. I love you guys and these set reviews, but this one seemed a bit rushed. Maybe it’s just because LSV seemed tired, or you guys had something else to do, but there wasn’t as much of that delicious back and forth that I’ve come to know and love from you guys. There was a lot of LSV talking about the card and Marshall just agreeing before moving on. Like I said, I don’t know if there was a time constraint issue, but please don’t worry about these taking too long. There’s nothing I love more than hearing you guys “go deep” on a card, and I know so many listeners feel the same. 🙂

  3. I just want to mention another good term for setup cost: Dependency. I know you put out an open call a while back to settle on the terminology, and I’m not saying you should stop using setup cost because it is very descriptive. I’m just highlighting another good term for the same concept in case you ever find it useful. I’ve had this in mind for a while, and every time you mention setup cost it seems interchangeable to me. It can be used in almost any context.

“This card has a lot of dependencies.”
“This card is really dependent on X, Y, and Z.”
“This card is totally independent of any setup cost.”

It’s a term we use in computer science when describing code that simply won’t work without other code, and is also usually a negative quality. The opposite concept is modularity and good code is often modular, meaning it is independent of external resources and can be slotted in anywhere. Anyway, I hope that helps on the mic some day. Keep up the good work!
