  1. Great work guys! Love how a card like Invoker calls for “if you played back in the day” been playing since Arabian Nights! Best game ever!

    • The thing to keep in mind is that you are never guaranteed to his land. Eventually, you’re going to run out of land. At that point, Tunneling Geopede doesn’t get any more 1-damage triggers. Nettle Drone only has to tap to deal the damage. So there’s no chance of it not being able to as long as it can untap and stays alive.

It also has the benefit of getting more value from every other colorless spell. You’re often only going to hit one trigger a turn with Geopede. Maybe more if you’re trying to go R/G ramp, but even then it won’t be too common. It won’t be too hard to hit 2 damage with Nettle Drone, maybe even 3 if you’re in some kind of devoid/eldrazi deck.

  2. Curious on the grading of Adverse Conditions. I’m specifically remembering the UG tempo deck from Theros block, and Sudden Storm from Born of the Gods (the same thing, but with a scry instead of a Scion) was a really key card in that deck (along with things like Griptide). It was (in my experience at least) a highly sought after card, and it was a common at that point. I think U/B and U/W are definitely going to get a lot of value out of this, and at uncommon I don’t think they’re going to stay in packs for more than a couple picks. My argument would be C+/B- maybe.

  3. Hey Marshall, Did you notice the scale sea iguana at the bottom right of Swell of Growth for comparison to the one Kiora is targeting with the spell?

  4. Great show guys, super informative. Maybe just a liiiitle more brevity in it would be nice though 😉

I’d like to be able to listen to the whole thing in one day.

  5. Thanks for the help went 4-1 with naya allies at my prerelease. I also listed to this in one sitting right before the prerelease started, so thank y’all for the time you put into the podcast.

  6. Thanks for your hard work guys! It’s always a pleasure to listen to you talking about Magic – the more the better… Normal shows are not enough to fill the travel to work time… I love the set reviews – thet laat for a week 🙂

    Keep up the good work!

  7. Are the card gradings posted anywhere? I’d love to refer back to them without needing to listen through the cast again.
Thanks for the stellar review guys! Much appreciated!!!
