    • The difference between Earwig Squad and most of these spells is twofold – A) Leaving behind a body is almost always more relevant than you think it will be; 2) Earwig Squad searches the whole library for any three cards, not just all copies of one in their hand, so you can do things like take away all their removal so they can’t answer the 5/3 you just paid 2B for.

  1. For the 1-mana 1/1 creatures with upside you guys forgot to mention mana-dorks. They’re usually good in limited.

  3. Someone help me figure out where I’m wrong. LSV said “It’s actually 11 traps.” Referring to 10 plus the “bonus” but I still only count 10.
    1. Don’t play extraction effects.
    2. Don’t play 1/1s for 1.
    3. Don’t play too many cards that don’t affect the board state.
    4. Be careful about equipment and equip costs.
    5. Don’t play that single good aggressive creature in a non-aggressive deck.
    6. Don’t force your colors or decide your colors beforehand.
    7. Be careful about your “Best Case Scenario Mentality.”
    8. Don’t be afraid to take a great card that isn’t in your colors over an average card that is, just in case you have to switch.
    9. Don’t marry your rare.
    10. Lavaball Trap.
    I’ve skimmed through the episode 3 times after listening to the whole thing and I can’t find what I’m missing.

  4. We need a name, a label for the Pacifism-vs.-3-black-cards trap. As Marshall said, it’s an opportunity-cost thing, but I’d like something catchier and Magic-specific. I like the mental image of putting *potential* cards on the scale. LSV’s “implied future value of [color]” is accurate but not catchy the way “ROTy” or “BCSM” is.
