When I was following draft strategy a few years ago (ahem, like, ten) there was signaling-type thinking that I’ve not seen discussed in modern draft coverage. It’s when you open a pack one which has 3-4 early-pickable (non-bomb) cards of the same color (say black), and the logic was to take a worse card of a different color and let the drafters under you fight over black. Is that something that is now considered incorrect?
This has been mentioned a few times on LR, with the answer being “Just take the best card.” If the cards are all equal, then it might be a consideration, otherwise it shouldn’t be. At least that’s what I recall Luis saying
